Wholesale Account Manager
Purpose
As a Wholesale Account Manager, you are responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with wholesale customers, ensuring their needs are met while driving revenue growth. You will manage accounts, identify growth opportunities within the wholesale channel, and collaborate with internal teams to deliver exceptional service and solutions. Success in this role requires strong communication, negotiation, problem-solving skills, and a customer-centric mindset.
To support your success, you will work alongside a Sales Administrator dedicated to order processing for the wholesale channel. This partnership allows you to strategically focus on managing and growing CosMic Plants’ wholesale business.
Responsibilities
- Develop a firm understanding of Phalaenopsis orchids and CosMic Plants' product categories.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with customers and suppliers through excellence in customer service.
- Present, promote, and sell products to the wholesale channel via phone, email, and in-person meetings.
- Assist sales administration in processing orders and returns.
- Coordinate sales efforts with other departments such as marketing, fulfillment, production, and logistics, to ensure accuracy and customer satisfaction.
- Meet and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
- Utilize the ERP system for customer analysis, reporting, and informed decision-making.
- Ensure accurate reporting of key activities, timely database updates, and effective communication of pre-books.
- Track and analyze key account metrics; prepare reports and forecasts.
- Stay informed about inventory levels and product availability.
- Represent CosMic Plants' brand and uphold its quality image.
- Follow up on inbound marketing leads and identify qualified opportunities.
- Monitor and control receivables, collecting near-overdue accounts.
- Resolve client issues and escalate concerns as needed to ensure customer retention.
Qualifications and Preferred Skills
- 3-5 years of experience in an account management role; floral industry experience is considered an asset.
- Completed post-secondary education in business or a related field.
- Strong ability to build and maintain relationships with wholesale customers.
- Skilled in pricing strategies and sales negotiations.
- Ability to manage wholesale business operations and market positioning.
- Works effectively with production, logistics, marketing, and sales administration teams.
- Understands wholesale buyer needs and adapts strategies accordingly.
- Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence wholesale customers.
- Uses data insights to optimize channel performance.
- Self-motivated with a strong drive to exceed sales targets.
- Able to navigate challenges in the supply chain, pricing fluctuations, and customer demands.
- Builds long-term partnerships based on reliability and service excellence.
- Experience with CRM or ERP systems.
- Proficient in sales reporting and forecasting tools.
- Bilingual is considered an asset.
Working Conditions
- Schedule of Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM 4:00 PM.
- Office-based with occasional travel for client visits and industry events.
- Flexible work schedule may be required to meet customer needs.
