Marketing Summer Student
Purpose
The Marketing Summer Student will play an active role in enhancing CosMic Plants’ brand presence through digital content creation, strategic social media planning, marketing asset development, and sales data analysis. This is an immersive opportunity to gain practical experience in a creative, learning-focused environment while contributing to real projects that drive brand visibility and market growth.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Social Media Strategy and Content Creation
- Develop a comprehensive multi-platform social media strategy to elevate brand visibility and consumer engagement.
- Capture and edit dynamic, visually appealing content aligned with CosMic Plants’ brand voice and social media pillars.
- Create and maintain an organized, forward-thinking social media calendar for the 2025/2026 season.
- Collaborate with the sales team to create compelling, sales-driven content in partnership with retail and distribution channels.
- Actively engage with social media users in a timely and professional manner that reflects our brand values.
2. Marketing Assets Development
- Capture and edit high-resolution product images to support the digital marketing library and visual brand consistency.
- Assist in the design and layout of promotional materials, including product catalogues, event materials, and customer communications, following brand guidelines.
- Support the marketing team in proofreading and editing trade marketing materials for accuracy and clarity.
3. Sales Data Collection and Analysis
- Pull and organize key sales data from the ETGrow platform into user-friendly spreadsheets.
- Analyze data to support seasonal forecasting, program performance reviews, and procurement initiatives.
- Present data in a clear, concise manner to support internal marketing and sales decision-making.
Qualifications and Preferred Skills
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic data analysis.
- Experience with social media platforms (Instagram and LinkedIn) and content creation tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar).
- Comfortable using photo and video editing software and capturing visual content.
- Detail-oriented, creative, and organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects at once.
- Passion for marketing, storytelling, and visual communication.
Additional Notes
- Duties may extend beyond the job description.
- The Marketing Summer Student will report to the Marketing Manager.
- Hours will be Monday-Thursday, 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM.
